HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Have a wonderful day with your family and friends:)
Just a picture from 2 years ago! Hopefully a picture from this year will be up later. The banner in the back is from Pottery Barn, and we will be putting our Pottery Barn Advent calendar up later. It's super cute and always fun!

So, naturally, as Thanksgiving is only TWO DAYS away, I would like to help you realize just how fortunate you truly are. Be thankful for your family. Mine lives thousands of miles away, and I've only visited them four times in my entire life. I wish everyday I could be with them and create a better relationship with them. But I know that I should thank God everyday that I have a family who is there for me. Secondly, be thankful for who YOU are. We all have our special quirks and talents, some discovered and some left undiscovered until later. Thirdly, be thankful for your friends. They may get on your nerves 99.999999999% of the time, but when you look back at it, you'll realize you were so lucky to have them. And lastly, be thankful for whatever else you can think of! I know last year I had to do a project that listed the 25 things I was thankful for, and at first I was trying to list the cliche things everyone does. But you know what, I listed so many random things. For instance, coffee. Yes, coffee. And you wanna know why? Because, in my family, drinking coffee on a Sunday morning brings us together for a nice conversation. And I like that. It makes me feel good. So really, the little things you don't even realize have a deeper meaning actually do have one! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! make it count this year and be thankful for everyone and every thing! ROLL TIDE!!!!! (the Iron Bowl for football is this weekend *_* haha)

Okay, so I am obseessed with Julie Harrison's blog called "Little Woolie." I am actually doing her mixed stitch stripey blankey crochet-a-long (CAL), and it's going great because the texture of the wool and the colors she uses are the best I have ever seen. It just doesn't get better than that! She has a store where you can buy her yarn, which is linked on her blog home page. However, I know it is early to be talking about Christmas, but while I am working on the blanket now for a Christmas present because it will take me so long to make, I was on her blog and came across these great Christmas stars that are so great, again because of the colors she uses! They remind me of the colors I see during Christmas back home in Germany:) You can pretty much just use your imagination for them, using them for ornaments or ceiling decorations or gifts, etc. I actually think some of the colors she uses for them are used in the blanket, so if you decided to do the blanket, then you already have some of the colors for the stars! She also mentions using scraps of wool and any extra wool you have lying around since they aren't so big like a blanket. So really, your options are unlimited. Again, just be creative and keep an open mind! I will answer any questions you have on these projects or really on any projects you have! Feel free to also share anything with me that you find interesting! Here are pictures of both the blanket and the Christmas stars!

Again, I cannot get over the colors she uses; aren't they just fabulous? They are so inviting and there's almost not even a word for how great they go together and they look so nice!
Happy Crocheting(: xoxo-Hanna
It's hard not to love the month of October! Meanwhile, I have taken an interest in French macaron making mostly because of thier growing popularity (and their fancy looks!). I stumbled upon some cute pumpkin spice macarons on Jessee Maloney's blog "An Art School Dropout's Life." They looked very easy so I went searching around some more for a recipe since one wasn't included, and I found another great blog- Heather's blog called "Sprinkle Liberally." So, I am going to attempt these macarons and will post a picture of the finished product when I'm finished making them, which will be in about two days because it calls for aging the egg whites. But just in case any of you were interested in joining me undertaking my first time making macarons, I am going to show you what Jessee's looked like!

Aren't they precious? I hope you all decide to make them as well. I am actually doing this week's batch to do a test run before I make the master batch for the neighbor's on Halloween just to make sure they turn out as planned. If you have any quesitons, feel free to ask me! Here are the links for the blogs just in case you had any trouble finding them.
Jessee's blog: http://artschooldropout.net/blog/?p=1392
Heather's blog: http://www.sprinkleliberally.com/search?updated-max=2013-11-20T19:05:00-08:00&max-results=3&start=3&by-date=false
Also remeber to rotate your pan halfway through baking, and I am substituting orange gel food coloring for the liquid drops of food coloring because it helps to keep the macaron texture the same.
Happy Macaron Making! xoxo -Hanna<3

Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my blog! My daughter Hanna and I will try to post frequently to our blog so you can see what fun things we are up to! Hanna likes to post about her crochet adventures and all of the other crafty things she does, and I am mostly doing this to show my family. Hope you enjoy this blog....will probably be making another post soon:) This is just a picture of one of the many things that Hanna crochets. This minion beanie comes in all sizes and is $20! We just made an account on Etsy and are working on posting some of her handmade products just in case any of you were interested! She ships everywhere in the world, but obviously the shipping costs will vary. Even though her Etsy shop might not give the option to ship to your country, just email her (her email will be somewhere in her profile or in one of her posts). Her shop is CrochetByHanna. She also does custom orders. We will be working on setting it up soon! Have a great day:)
